Stay online and prevent data loss
As soon as the power goes out, an APC Smart-UPS immediately provides emergency power to all connected devices. Since this happens automatically with an APC UPS, you prevent unwanted outages of, for example, a PC, server or switch. With the free APC PowerChute software, you can even have critical IT hardware automatically and controlled shut down when the UPS battery is almost empty. This prevents data loss, downtime and physical damage to the hardware.

Security
In addition, a Smart-UPS protects connected devices from power surges caused by lightning strikes, among other things. This APC emergency power supply is ideal for use in (small) businesses.

Lithium-Ion
The APC SMTL1000RMI2UC uses a Li-Ion (LiFePO4) battery, which offers unique advantages:

- Longer life. A Li-Ion battery can last up to 10 years, making the UPS truly maintenance-free.
- Can handle more than ten times as many charge cycles as a lead-acid battery (VRLA).
- Smaller and lighter. Li-Ion batteries are smaller and weigh about 65% less than VRLA batteries, saving space and simplifying installation.
- Better battery performance than VRLA at ambient temperatures above 25 °C. For VRLA, this comes at the expense of battery life (>5% decrease per degree increase).
- 5-year manufacturer's warranty. Standard long warranty on the UPS including battery.
- Eliminate the costs of intermediate battery replacement; labor, materials, shipping and recycling.
- Lower total cost of ownership: The above benefits reduce the total cost over the entire life of the UPS by up to 47% (compared to a UPS with a VRLA battery).
- Faster charging means faster complete protection.
- Perfect for tight spaces. The limited depth of the UPS means it fits easily into wall racks and small cabinets.

SmartConnect
Ready-to-use UPS remote monitoring, free for a 6-month trial period. Using the SmartConnect Ethernet port, you can easily connect the Smart-UPS to your network and remotely monitor it via the secure cloud-based APC SmartConnect web portal*. In addition, the UPS can be monitored at any time via this port using EcoStruxure IT Expert (SWITE1YR-DIGI).

* Extend access to SmartConnect with the following licenses:
1-year Standard Plan: ERWPMON1-1Y-DIGI
3-year Standard Plan: ERWPMON1-3Y-DIGI

1-year Advanced Plan: ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI
3-year Advanced Plan: ERWPLUS1-3Y-DIGI

Network Management Card
If you connect the UPS directly to your network via the optional APC network management card (AP9640/AP9641), it can be easily managed remotely via SNMP or our remote management software Ecostruxure IT Expert (SWITE1YR-DIGI). You can also automatically send a shutdown signal over the network to multiple physical and/or virtual servers. Using the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown Software connected to the network card, it is even possible to differentiate based on the time of shutdown and the order in which this happens.

Ease of use
Physical buttons and an LCD screen allow you to set and read basic functions.

Battery life
You can easily read the estimated battery life in the runtime graph, which you can find between the product images. You can easily see how long the UPS will provide emergency power at a given load.

Mounting
The UPS is equipped with mounting brackets that, due to its limited depth, allow easy mounting to the front posts in a 19-inch rack, a wall or a patch cabinet. Thanks to the optional stabilizing feet SMTL2USF, the UPS can also be placed vertically independently, i.e. it can be placed upright separately.

Switched Outlet Groups: Remote restart and phased startup
Thanks to the Switched Outlet Groups, it is possible to configure a phased/delayed switch-on per UPS outlet group. This reduces the peak load of the UPS and brings it closer to the constant load, limiting oversizing of the UPS.

It is also possible to reset a group of multiple UPS outlets and the devices connected to them. When using SmartConnect Advanced (ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI), a UPS with SmartConnect port + Ecostruxure IT Expert (SWITE1YR-DIGI) or a network card (ap9640) in combination with Ecostruxure IT Expert, this is even possible remotely.
